Rinomata Cantina Tombacco Pecorino 2025, Abruzzo

No...not the cheese!  Pecorino is one of central Italy's great white revivals.  It is an old Abruzzo grape almost lost to history but now well and truly back. This one's from Rinomata Cantina Tombacco, a long-running Italian house (since 1919), bottled as a Terre di Chieti IGT.

Bright yellow in the glass, with ripe stone fruit, lime and a lift of exotic fruit and gentle spice. The palate is juicy and fleshy but nicely structured.  It has fresh acidity, a savoury mineral streak and a good, persistent finish. Cracking with seafood and antipasti.

A great new discovery.  Once you've tasted Pecorino you'll want it all the time.
