Piedra Negra Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
This Malbec is packed with dark fruit, a whiff of herbs and just a touch of wild gamey goodness. Add a sprinkle of roasted nuts and you’ve got yourself a serious sip. Grown high in Argentina’s Uco Valley by French winemaker François Lurton (yes, he knows what he’s doing), this wine is rich, powerful, and confidently strutting its stuff. Smooth but gutsy, it finishes long and strong. Drink now or cellar till 2030 if you’ve got that kind of willpower.
Decibel Giunta Malbec Nouveau, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
Fresh, fun, and dangerously easy to drink. This playful Malbec is bursting with juicy plum, a hint of violet, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. There’s a little thyme in the mix too. Light on its feet with silky tannins and pure, youthful fruit, it’s made for right now. Pop it in the fridge for a slight chill and enjoy sooner rather than later.
