Lethbridge 'Il Modo' Aglianico 2019, Geelong

Something a bit different here. Aglianico is the great red grape of southern Italy's Campania but this is grown in cool-climate Geelong, Victoria.

This is from Lethbridge's "Il Modo" range, their line of Italian varietals made with minimal intervention and matured in large Tuscan amphora.

Vibrant and finely structured, with blueberry, red plum and perfumed spice on the nose. The palate is dark-fruited but restrained.  Firm but fine tannins and lively acidity carrying a savoury, mineral finish. Built for the table, with the structure to cellar.
