Jim Barry Assyrtiko 2025, Clare Valley

Something a bit different from Clare Valley. Jim Barry were the first to plant Assyrtiko (the great white grape of Santorini) in Australia, bringing cuttings across and getting them in the ground at their Lodge Hill vineyard in 2012.

This is the result: a properly Aussie take on a Greek classic.

Bone-dry and crisp with lemon zest, green apple and a distinct hit of sea-spray. There's real shape and texture to it, and a long, saline finish that is superbly refreshing.

A cracker wine to pair with anything off the grill or straight out of the sea.  Do like the Aussies do and a throw a shrimp on the barbie for this one.
