Domaine Boutinet La Fleur Solitare Cote du Rhone

La Fleur Solitaire is a classic Rhône blend that offers plenty of character for the price.

Made primarily from Grenache Blanc with Roussanne and Viognier this wine has a warmth and generosity that make it easy to understand why this region's wines are underestimated and often overlooked.  

Aromas of white peach and citrus are complemented by fennel, green herb and floral notes.  The palate is rounded with richness and a fresh, clean finish. Although the wine has seen some oak, the richness on the palate is more texture driven rather than oak driven. 

This is an easy sub for Chenin Blanc or Chardonnay drinkers.  It would pair well with a chicken and leek pie or better yet, a classic French dish of creamy chicken with tarragon.
