Dancing Petrel Arneis 2023, Northland

Arneis is a lovely white grape from Piedmont in Italy, and you almost never see it grown in New Zealand.

It comes from Dancing Petrel, a genuinely tiny vineyard out on Peewhenua Island in Northland's Mangonui Harbour with just ten hectares of vines.  Arneis is one of a small handful of interesting varieties planted.  

A fresh, full-bodied white with citrus, stone fruit and a touch of orchard apple, good depth through the middle and a dry, lingering finish. A distinctive drop with a proper story behind it.
